Good morning,
Here’s to a fresh month, sunshine, and an opportunity to reset ourselves after a couple of months of holiday celebrations, travel, an election, uncertainty, and illness… Who do we want to be? What do we want family life to look like? And parents, please remember to make a plan take care of yourselves.
At HHFC this week, we will be wrapping up parent conferences, enjoying warmer temperatures and lots of great play. As it is the second semester of Drop Off class, we find our friends are ready for new challenges and offer a variety of new developmental opportunities each week.
Current Drop-Off class families, watch for a link later this week describing our offerings next year (September ‘25-May ‘26), with priority enrollment for current students and siblings until 2/15. Beginning 2/16, Drop-Off class enrollment will be open to the general public.
Has your work schedule changed, i.e. will someone in your household return to in-person vs. remote work? We may be able to help you meet your care needs. Let us know if you have an on-site or off-site need for us to consider.
Don’t forget:

Afternoon Enrichment Classes 2:30 (arrive by 3:15)-5:30pm T/W/Th
We’ve enjoyed our 2024 Fall Afternoon Enrichment Classes-our first session! We’ve learned much in observing the interests and needs of the children, and so we’ve edited the classes just a bit for our Winter/Spring session that starts in January. Let us say that these classes are needed, and a great alternative to fussy afternoons at home indoors or debating with children who want to watch tv or game until dinner time! We are active and doing real things!
In particular the children are loving outdoor play, making lots of choices using open-ended materials in Tinkering and Handwork, and working together as a team to solve problems. Unlike many enrichment classes, the children aren’t rushed and can sink deep into the activities over the course of a couple of hours in a small group. Maybe you’d also be surprised that we are noting how much the children enjoy mixed age play?
We’ve considered how more families can participate by:
including 3 year olds-must be potty trained as this is a major developmental shift making them ready for afternoon enrichment. This should allow more siblings to attend together!
adjusting rates and offering a family rate (the ECONOMY!)
allowing monthly billing instead of billing by the semester
monthly tuition per day Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday
$95/month one child T or W or Th
$160/month families T or W or Th
creating a discounted rate for families who want their child(ren) to participate in all 3 days of enrichment each week
$270/month one child T/W/Th
$455/month families T/W/Th
We’ve adjusted Thursdays to include board games and gross motor games outside. We are seeing our friends become stronger and more active in each session. Cursive/printing/form drawing will still be available as a center during cooking.
Students who attend all semester will still receive a transcript in December and May that can serve as documentation for homeschooling, as well as a collection of their work. Each class is detailed at the Sign Up links below:
Tuesdays Tinkering/The Way Things Work 1/7-5/27/25 2:30-5:30pm (arrive by 3:15pm)
Wednesdays Weekly Art and Handwork Studio 1/8-5/28/25 2:30-5:30pm (arrive by 3:15pm)
Thursday Cooking, Writing, and Games! 1/9-5/29/25 2:30-5:30pm (arrive by 3:15pm)
NEW January 2025-we’re adding games (board games + cooperative gross motor games outside!)
Reserve your child’s space today! We would be so appreciative if you’d help spread the word about our afternoon enrichment!
